Ariel was born and raised in Berkeley, CA and has always been interested in Jewish texts, culture, traditions and values. After attending the Berkeley Montessori School for eight years and completing four years at the Jewish Community High School of the Bay in San Francisco, he lived in Israel for one year, studying Talmud, Tanach, Machshavah (Jewish Thought) and Halacha (Jewish Law) at Yeshivat Eretz HaTzvi in Jerusalem. He is an open-minded thinker, understanding and appreciating the variant values and interests across the multiplicity of Jewish experiences, and works to understand the overlapping currents throughout different Jewish traditions.
Ariel is a classical guitarist and plays Ultimate Frisbee for 'Uptown Local' – Columbia University’s Ultimate team, and lives in Manhattan, New York.
